Overview:

This 3 day course is designed for the otolaryngologist and speech language pathologist to gain knowledge and skill in the performance and interpretation of laryngeal stroboscopy and flexible endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES). Principles of laryngeal and upper aerodigestive function will be discussed so that the clinician will understand the necessity and the true diagnostic potential of laryngeal endostroboscopy and FEES. Several hours of hands-on laboratory sessions will develop skills in the clinical performance of each examination. Interpretation techniques for the beginner through advanced clinician will be presented through didactic lectures and applied during interactive case presentations. Finally, equipment and billing considerations required to build a voice and swallowing practice will be discussed.
