The field of maternal mental health is rapidly expanding in terms of available clinical information and research and women seeking treatment. In order to help those working with this patient population become familiar with the current data and learn the most up to date therapeutic options, this conference was developed and is now in its second year.

  1. Incorporate new evidence based psychopharmacology treatments into the management of patients
  2. Consider the impact of sleep in the diagnosis and treatment of pregnant and postpartum women
  3. Utilize learned information about trauma to understand mental health postpartum
  4. Become familiar with the current health policies in the area of mental health in order to work towards improvement in this field as a community
  5. Appropriately manage special populations, including LGBTQ, underserved minorities, parents of NICU infants, and women with eating disorders.
  6. Incorporate information from leading treatment programs around the state of California into current practices.
