Overview:

With improved understanding of pathophysiology and disease mechanisms and with technological advancements, the approaches to head and neck surgical disorders and head and neck surgery techniques continue to evolve at a rapid pace. The goal of this course is to provide an update on contemporary head and neck surgery and to foster educational interaction between practitioners from the Pacific Rim and beyond. A distinguished faculty will provide lectures and roundtable discussions. Ample time for questions and interaction with the faculty is planned. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own cases for discussion.

TARGET AUDIENCE
This course is intended for practicing otolaryngologist-head and neck surgeons, facial plastic surgeons, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, dermatologic surgeons, advanced health professionals, and nurses.

Accreditation:

The University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine (UCSF) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

UCSF designates this live activity for a maximum of 22.75 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. This CME activity meets the requirements under California Assembly Bill 1195, continuing education and cultural and linguistic competency.

The American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery MOC: Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to meet the expectations of the American Board of Otolaryngology’s Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of recognizing participation. The course evaluation must be completed to receive MOC credit. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABO MOC credit.

Nurses: For the purpose of recertification, the American Nurses Credentialing Center accepts AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM issued by organizations accredited by the ACCME.

Physician Assistants: AAPA accepts category 1 credit from AOACCME, Prescribed credit from AAFP, and AMA category 1 credit for the PRA for organizations accredited by the ACCME.
