This innovative 3 day pre-course, which precedes the flagship UCSF Management of the Hospitalized Patient course, provides an in-depth and engaging experience for hospitalists who seek clinical skill development. Participants will join faculty at UCSF Medical Center to participate in small-group learning in 4 domains: Critical Care Medicine, Hospital-based Neurology, Surgical Co-Management and Consultation, and Dermatology for the Hospitalist. Attendees will also receive hands-on procedural training (e.g., use of ultrasound guidance) and sessions focused on interpreting radiographic studies, building diagnostic acumen, and enhancing end-of-life communication skills. An attendee completing the Hospitalist Mini-College pre-course should be able to improve diagnostic and management skills through hands-on teaching and observation in the following disciplines:
UCSF designates this live activity for a maximum of 21.50 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. This CME activity meets the requirements under California Assembly Bill 1195, continuing education and cultural and linguistic competency.
Maintenance of Certification: Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 2 1.50 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.
Family Physicians: Application for CME credit has been filed with the American Academy of Family Physicians. Determination of credit is pending.
