Overview:

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco invites you to attend the 54th Annual Advances & Controversies in Clinical Pediatrics, May 12-15, 2021 from 8 am - 1 pm PDT as a live stream webinar. The program endeavors to provide research, academic, and clinical information in a format that emphasizes the practical application of current concepts relevant to office practice and to professionals involved in the care of children. Pediatric, Family Practice and Emergency Room Physicians, as well as Physician Assistants, Nurses and Nurse Practitioners report that they consistently benefit from their participation in this program, where nationally recognized guest faculty present a series of lectures that are complemented by UCSF faculty and Bay Area experts speaking about a variety of other current or controversial pediatric issues, which will ultimately result in better care for children of all ages, infants through adolescents.

This year’s course focuses on emergency medicine, infectious diseases, COVID, MIS-C, neurology, pulmonary, and anxiety.

LIVE STREAM MEETING
This course will be offered as a live interactive virtual conference.  Login instructions along with the digital syllabus will be shared with attendees a week before the meeting.  Included in your registration fee is access to the course recordings on demand (available within a week after the conference) for any sessions that you miss, available for up to 30 days post-course.

Accreditation:

The University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine (UCSF) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

UCSF designates this live activity for a maximum of 20.75 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

This CME activity meets the requirements under California Assembly Bill 1195, continuing education and cultural and linguistic competency.

Pain Management and Care for the Terminally Ill: The approved credits shown above include 10.75 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM towards meeting the requirement under California Assembly Bill 487, Pain Management and Care for the Terminally Ill.

Nurses: For the purpose of recertification, the American Nurses Credentialing Center accepts AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM issued by organizations accredited by the ACCME.

Physician Assistants: AAPA accepts category 1 credit from AOACCME, Prescribed credit from AAFP, and AMA Category 1 Credit for the PRA from organizations accredited by the ACCME.

Pharmacists: The California Board of Pharmacy accepts as continuing professional education those courses that meet the standard of relevance to pharmacy practice and have been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.

Family Physicians: Application for CME credit has been filed with the American Academy of Family Physicians. Determination of credit is pending.
