UCSF CME: Biennial UCSF Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Symposium 2023

Overview:

The Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, at the University of California, San Francisco are pleased to announce the “Biennial UCSF Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Symposium 2023”, to be held June 23-24TH, 2023 at The UCSF Mission Bay Conference Center in San Francisco. The course will draw from the distinguished faculty in the UCSF Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as well as a group of visiting academicians from across the country.

This scientific program, presented by full-time and clinical faculty, residents, and invited guests, is designed to discuss recent advances across the full spectrum of plastic surgery. This year, the program includes a series of in depth talks by our faculty as well as experts in their fields. The program will examine advances and developments in hand surgery, breast reconstruction, pediatric and craniofacial surgery, wound care, stem cell research, and the education for aesthetic surgery. Ample time has been included for questions and discussion throughout the program. The meeting is being held at the Mission Bay Conference Center in the heart of the San Francisco financial district, near the San Francisco Giants Stadium, shopping, and restaurants.

There will be a reception and dinner offered at The Fairmont San Francisco on Saturday, June 24th after the conference from 6pm – 10pm. Objectives:

An attendee completing this course should be able to:

• Understand and apply current techniques in facelift, rhinoplasty and abdominoplasty.
  
• Understand and apply new procedures in breast reconstruction.
  
• Incorporate research updates on muscle stem cells and satellite cells from the UCSF Craniofacial and Mesenchymal Biology Program.
  
• Understand the evidence for use of different wound care regimens, also indications for specific reconstructive approaches.
  
• Understand education for plastic and reconstructive surgery.
  
• Understand and apply the lastest techniques in the treatment of complex hand injuries and replantation.
  
• Understand research data updates on cleft repair, alveolar bone grafts and new approaches to complex multi-suture synostosis.
  
• Understand and apply new procedures in the care of transgender

Accreditation:

The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is accredited by the Accreditation Council of Continuing Medical Education (ACGME) to pr ovide continuing medical education for physicians.

UCSF designates this live activity for a maximum of 11 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits^TM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

This CME activity meets the requirements under California Assembly Bill 1195, continuing education and cultural and linguistic competency.

Nurses
For the purposes of recertification, The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) accept AMA PRA Category 1 Credits^TM issued by organizations accredited by the ACCME.
